Welcome to BriefBox Product Release 2025.9! This is a major release, and the headline is a completely redesigned Launchpad Dashboard. Read on for what is new, what is improved, and what we fixed along the way.
🚀 New Features
Launchpad Dashboard v2
Your Launchpad home screen has been rebuilt from the ground up. The new dashboard brings the things you use most into one clear, modern view, so you spend less time navigating and more time working.
Module navigation cards. Key areas of the platform, such as Matters, Briefs, Risks, and Events, now appear as a set of clickable cards at the heart of the dashboard. Each card can show live item counts and quick shortcuts, so you can jump straight into the work that matters. You will only see cards for the modules you have access to, and the layout adapts smoothly to tablets and smaller screens.
A friendlier way to update your capacity. The old slider and dropdown have been replaced with a visual update experience. Choose how you are tracking from five clear score cards, each with an emoji and a plain English label, then pick a status such as Working from Office, Working from Home, or On Leave. Your dashboard updates immediately to reflect your new score and status.
Clearer action items. Your action items list on the dashboard now gives you better context at a glance, including capacity prompts for you and your team, and a friendly message when you are all caught up.
What this means for you:
🗂️ Faster navigation. Jump into any module directly from the dashboard cards instead of digging through menus.
😎 Capacity updates in seconds. Share your availability with a couple of clicks using the new visual score cards and status options.
✅ Stay on top of your day. Action items give you a clearer picture of what needs your attention, for you and your team.
🔒 Tailored to your role. The dashboard only shows the modules and information you are authorised to see.
📱 Works on the go. The new layout is fully responsive on tablets and mobile devices.
🐛 Fixes
This release also includes a round of fixes and polish, including some that shipped in the days immediately following the main release:
Searching from the Launchpad now behaves the way you expect. Pressing Enter triggers the search, and the search box clears afterwards, ready for your next lookup.
Updating your capacity score now refreshes your score and graph immediately, and your current status stays selected when you reopen the update window.
New users without an existing capacity entry can now add their first capacity score directly from the dashboard.
Fixed an error that could appear in the Action Items section of the new dashboard for some users.
Fixed misaligned filters and overlapping column headers in the admin user list.
The group by options in matter management now only show options that are relevant to the type of matter you are viewing.
In the Brief module, you now see a clear validation message when the Start Date and the Response By date are set to the same date.
🌐 Behind-the-Scenes Improvements
We have laid groundwork for upcoming identity and security improvements, strengthening how the platform manages accounts behind the scenes.
Parts of our internal messaging infrastructure now run as a dedicated service, improving the reliability and scalability of the platform.
As always, if you have any questions or feedback about this release, reach out to us through the messenger. We would love to hear from you.
